Why you'll love it

Big Blue is what happens when you engineer something at serious scale without cutting corners. Built for spaces that can handle a statement piece.

Assembly takes under a minute despite the size - T-shaped joints and sliding lock mechanisms keep everything rigid without glue. Our MODLD WallSnap™ distributes the weight across your wall, no drilling required.

This isn't something you hang and forget. It's the piece people notice from across the room, then walk closer to understand how it works.

Big Blue
Built from vectors, tested through dozens of prototypes, mounted at a scale most 3D prints never attempt. Because some walls were made for whales.

Behind every great desk

10 hours to print

Half a day on the printer bed. Large curved surfaces require slower speeds to prevent warping. The printer can't rush physics. Neither can we.
  • Certified Original

    Engraved unique ID

Every piece carries an engraved Unicity ID, 3D-printed into the back of your sculpture. This certifies it's an original MODLD piece and marks its place in the limited series. Your number, permanently part of the design.

  • Mounting System

    MODLD WallSnap™

Our proprietary wall mount uses embedded stainless steel spheres that click the sculpture securely into place. Installs in seconds without nails or screws. Holds firmly, removes cleanly, leaves no damage.

  • Sustainable Materials

    Recyclable & evolving

Made from 100% recyclable plastic. We're actively researching ways to achieve top-quality prints with zero environmental impact. This is just the beginning of our sustainability commitment.

DESIGN

Where angles meet curves

This sculpture starts as a problem: how do you make flowing, organic shapes out of hard-edged polygons? We spent months adjusting the poly count - too few and it looks blocky, too many and the low-poly aesthetic disappears. The final model balances geometric precision with the suggestion of movement.

LOCKING PIECES AT SCALE The whale's head and side fin connection almost killed this project. The fin sits between two sliding parts - head above, belly below. Both pieces have to slide into position and lock the fin without any wobble. At this scale, even small tolerances multiply into big problems. Then we added the middle body section with its T-shaped joints. It had to slot in while keeping top and bottom separate. First prototypes? Complete failure. The middle section slid right out, making tail attachment impossible.
We tightened everything. Too tight - pieces wouldn't seat without forcing them. We smoothed the joints, adjusted the thickness, printed iteration after iteration. Thirty-something prototypes later, we found the tolerance zone where parts click smoothly but grip firmly. Final result: a whale that packs compact and stays locked together on your wall. The joints are nearly invisible once built. That invisibility took months to engineer.

Computational craft

Designing parts this large means accounting for physics most desktop prints ignore. We calculate thermal expansion during 10-hour prints, structural stress on joints holding this much material, how assembly sequence affects final stability. Every surface is optimized for printability at size. Engineering isn't glamorous, but it's why this thing doesn't fall apart.

Yours and yours alone

Every piece carries an engraved Unicity ID. When you own #060 of 200, you're holding something from a defined production run, not endless manufacturing. The ID isn't marketing - it's proof this came from our process, our standards, our limited series.

Mounting solved

Standard picture hangers can't handle half a meter of material. We engineered a wall mount with embedded steel spheres that click into recesses on the sculpture's back. The mount distributes weight across a larger surface area than nails ever could. Thirty seconds to install, holds securely, removes cleanly when you need to move it.

Did You Know? Blue whale hearts weigh 400 pounds and beat 8-10 times per minute when diving. The largest heart of any animal that's ever lived. Some things are built different.

GOOD TO KNOW

Common Questions

We start with digital geometry and engineer each piece for months until it's perfect. Every sculpture is 3D printed (10+ hours per piece), clicks together without glue, and mounts without damaging walls. Plus, each one carries a unique ID. It's as close to owning a physical NFT as you can get.

Yes. Each statue arrives in premium packaging with everything you need: pre-assembled sculpture, MODLD WallSnap™ mounting system for wall models, and clear instructions. You'll have it on your wall in under 5 minutes.

Every piece is 3D-printed individually and engraved with a Unicity ID on the back. That's your number, tied to your piece. We make them in small batches, not factory runs.

Our MODLD WallSnap™ system uses a clean mounting mechanism: no nails, no screws, no holes. It holds securely with the provided adhesive strip and removes without damage. Designed for renters, perfectionists, and anyone who hates drilling.

Absolutely. 30-day returns in the original packaging and conditions. We want you to love it, and if it doesn't fit your setup, we get it.
